How it all started

Wednesday, 2nd January, 2008

This was the day we, that is, Vishal, Sandeep and I (Sonia), came together for the first time to officially discuss putting together our own venture in the field of Education.

In our engineering days at Somaiya, we would brainstorm on the various things that infuriated us about the Education system we followed - mugging up things and just seeing - often we weren't allowed to experiment and try our own things with the apparatus. Not only in college, even in school we weren't allowed to that.

There were so many things we wanted to do. Time passed, we graduated and thought that someday we would do our thing. Finally almost 2 years after graduating, we met on this eventful day to further discuss our ambitions and dreams.

Sandeep was already working with a firm that was doing something similar, so we already had someone with the basic know-how!! But there was a lot of stuff we still had to learn.

Once we had decided on how we wanted to go about doing things ,we had one of our toughest challenges! We needed a NAME! What's in a name!!??? Well, a lot we figured. There were so many that came to our minds and we discarded for want of a better one, something that connected us with kids. Rather we hoped the kids would connect to us through the name.

After stumbling and picking ourselves up over a trillion names in a matter of a week, we finally decided The Magic Tree it would be! And boy do kids relate to it! They definitely remember the name if not us ;)

So here's to The Magic Tree!
